In a building development project of a major residential area the owner wanted to increase cost effectiveness and implement measures to reduce building energy consumption. CPS was invited to improve the applied design practice by introducing a new methodology:
- With detailed energy demand analysis and simulations (BIM) by CPS the building cooling system capacity and district cooling fees could be reduced by 25%.
- The detailed demand analysis resulted in the elimination of over-design and excessive safety margins and suggested equipment investment cost savings as well as operational cost savings.
- CPS could also propose measures to reduce energy consumption related to the design and operation of the ventilation system of the building that allowed for a 25% reduction of the operational cost.
